I have always been fascinated by sports and nutrition. I was the kid on the football and rugby fields when I wasn’t at the rink figure skating. My love for sports took me into the field of Sports Marketing and Public Relations for more than 10 years. I loved that job but more and more I found myself picking the brain of the athletes I worked with on their nutrition plans. My true passion was calling.
In 2010 I went back to school at the Institute of Holistic Nutrition to make my love for food my career. I have been practicing as a Certified Nutritionist since 2012 and LOVE it!
My dietary philosophy is steeped in science and years of using myself (and my husband) as guinea pigs. I truly believe that there is no one universal style of eating that we should all follow. We are individuals and life gets REAL very quickly so sticking to a diet that doesn’t work for you is a waste of time. I believe that we can all benefit from eating less packaged foods and eating the majority of our foods from nature. A diet rich in vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds, organic meat, sustainable seafood and the occasional amazing dessert or glass of wine is a recipe for success in my books.
As a parent, it is not easy to feed your kids under the immense influence of our modern food system. It is my role to decipher the good from the bad and share the true story behind the health headlines. I want you to feel confident in the choices you make when feeding your family and equally confident in the kitchen to prepare simple and healthy meals that your kids will actually eat. It’s not always easy but I hope I can be your resource to guide you through.
My husband Pete and I have two girls and relocated from Toronto, Canada to the sunny beaches of Florida in 2015. We are proud Canadians and love everything about our home country… except the cold. Give me shorts and flip flops over parkas and mittens any day. We love raising our girls in a community where we can ride our bikes everywhere and where exercise and healthy eating come naturally.
Can’t wait to meet you!
